2023 LWML Retreat

"Whatever you do, do it all for the Glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).

This was our theme for the 2023 LWML Retreat August 11-13, 2023. From young to old we all have the problem of balancing our lives. My hope was that to balance out our lives at any stage is to keep our eyes on Jesus and to be in God's Word.

Our speakers were Deb Vinkemeier, former Minnesota South District President now living in northern MN, and Katy Gifford from Wheaton, MN. Katy is our Gift Planning Advocate for "Gifts of Love." Both Deb and Katy spoke on the topic of balancing life's challenges using different techniques for us to apply. Rev. Cr. Patrick Lovejoy led the Bible study Friday evening titled, "Balancing Life's Challenges" to kick off Saturday's speakers. There were 62 registered for the retreat including a total of 13 first-timers.

Kurt Weber, from Ottertail, MN, provided our entertainment for Saturday evening titled, An Evening for Music. Kurt performed classical music on piano, hymns and including music he wrote. His father is Rev. Karl Weber of St. John Ottertail, MN. Kurt left us with this phrase from Martin Luther "Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise."
